Conrad Sangma, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, has offered a compensation package of Rs. 4 lakh for the families of those killed in the floods.
Over 4,000 villages in Assam have been flooded, with 1.56 lakh people being relocated to 514 relief camps. Several embankments, culverts, and roadways have been destroyed as a result of the storm.
