A four-storey building collapsed in Naik Nagar, Kurla, Mumbai late on Monday night. One person has died after being buried in the debris. The civic body official said that the rescue operation is on. Fire brigade and police teams have reached the spot to rescue the people trapped under the debris. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the condition of 7 people rescued from under the rubble is stable, with 20 to 25 people still trapped under the debris. Meanwhile, one more person has been rescued alive on Tuesday morning. NDRF Deputy Commandant Ashish Kumar says that there is no confirmation of how many people are still trapped. As per BMC's data last night, 7 people were rescued with 20-25 people likely to be trapped under the rubble.

Aaditya Thackeray reached the spot

Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray visited the spot and took stock of the situation. Aditya Thackeray said that so far 5 to 7 people have been evacuated, they have been taken to the hospital. All four buildings were given eviction notices but many people still live there. Our priority is to get the building vacated and the building demolished.
