Hundreds of workers armed with sticks and rods waged a rare protest on the premises of Foxconn, the world's largest iPhone factory in Zhengzhou, China. In view of the increasing infection of Corona virus, strict rules have been imposed in the area of Apple Plant for the last one month, due to which there is a situation of tension. And now this tension has reached its peak.
A man was seen being thrashed with sticks by some people. It is said that the people doing the beating were security personnel who were preventing the workers from protesting. The protest turned so violent that the protesters even surrounded a police vehicle. Anti-riot police reached the spot to deal with the situation after which the situation was brought under control. In the videos that came out from the spot, a person said that they are scared about all the employees working in the plant getting corona infected. The person said, "I am really scared about this place, we all might be Covid positive now." Another person said, "You are sending us to death."
Strict corona controls and spot lockdowns across China have fueled discontent across the country. There is growing concern over global supply chains. Companies are battling to keep factories running as workers become infected. Production is affected. Apple had to say earlier this month that the shipment of the premium iPhone 14 model may decrease.
