Congress President Election: Who will be the command of Congress on 19th October, Ashok Gehlot's name in discussion

Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting was held on 28 August to decide the date of Congress President election, according to media reports, the election of Congress President will be held on 17 October. The notification for this will be issued on September 22. The nominations for the elections will be held from 11 am to 3 pm from September 24 to September 30. Voting will be held in all the state offices from 10 am to 4 pm on October 17 and the results will be out after counting on October 19.

Leaders present at the meeting

In the virtual meeting, KC Venugopal, Mukul Wasnik, Harish Chaudhary, Harish Rawat, Kumari Selja, Ajay Maken, Madhusudan Mistry, Mallikarjun Khange, Jairam Ramesh, were present in the meeting. At present, many senior leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Bhupesh Baghel attended.

On August 26, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad had resigned from all party posts. Azad, who has been a victim of neglect in the party for a long time, sent his resignation to Sonia Gandhi. In his five-page resignation letter, Azad has raised questions on the major changes in the organization and the working style of Rahul Gandhi. 

Sonia Gandhi wants Ashok Gehlot to take over

It is believed that Sonia Gandhi wants Rajasthan CM Gehlot to take over the responsibility of this post. However, the name of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is also appearing in this race. But he had refused to hold the post on several occasions. Rahul Gandhi is also not showing interest in becoming the president. But the Congress President is not an easy task to revive the country's oldest party in front of him. Because the organization of the party has become weak in many states including UP.
