Significantly, Rahul Gandhi is currently participating in the Bharat Jodo Yatra. This journey has been kept from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Gandhi has said that he is not leading the yatra, but is merely a part of it. He said that the padyatra is an attempt to understand what is happening at the ground level and at the same time it is an attempt to compensate for the loss done by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Rahul Gandhi said, "BJP-Sangh are free to express their opinion, but we are doing this 'yatra' to connect with the people. He said that all the institutions are now under the control of the BJP and they are being used to put pressure on the opposition.
