H3N2 and Corona: Is a new wave of Corona and H3N2 on the horizon?

Corona cases are now rising across the nation, corona on one side and H3N2 influenza on the other. The number of active instances of corona has crossed the figure of 5000. In the past 24 hours, more than 700 additional cases have been reported. The cause of the rise in cases has also become apparent in this circumstance. According to researchers, the sub-variant XBB1. 16 of Omicron is to blame for the rise in Covid cases in India. In certain states, this variety has already begun to spread.

Corona Cases Increasing

According to data from the Union Health Ministry, India recorded a single-day increase of 796 coronavirus infections on March 17, while the number of active cases surpassed 5,000 after 109 days. The total number of COVID-19 cases is now 4.46 crore (4,46,93,506). According to the data, the death toll rose to 5,30,795 with five fatalities. While Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Puducherry, and Uttar Pradesh each reported one death, Kerala reconciled one.

H3N2 Influenza

The government of Delhi has issued an advisory urging people, particularly children and the elderly, to take extra precautions and practice Covid-appropriate behavior. At least nine people have died across the country as a result of the H3N2 influenza virus, the most recent being a 73-year-old man in Maharashtra’s Pune. The country’s first case of H3N2 influenza was reported when an 82-year-old man died in Karnataka’s Hassan district. Between January 2 and March 5, 451 cases of H3N2 were reported in the country, according to data shared by the Union health ministry.
