The World Health Organization has once again advised people to be alert, indicating a new wave of corona virus infection. WHO Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan said that some countries may see another wave of Kovid infection due to the XBB subvariant of Omicron.
In a statement, Swaminathan said that there are more than 300 subvariants of Omicron all over the world. Omicron's XBB subvariant remains a cause of concern at the moment. This subvariant is a recombinant of the virus, before recombinant viruses have been observed. But the immunity of XBB is very high, due to which there is a fear that the virus may reduce the effectiveness of the antibodies of the vaccination. It is feared that another wave of Kovid may be seen in some countries.
