Jharkhand Foundation Day 2022

Jharkhand Foundation Day is observed on 15 November every year. It is the 28th state of India that got statehood in 2000. Earlier, it was part of Bihar. Jharkhand is a mineral-rich state with a considerable amount of tribal population. Also, 15th November is the birth anniversary of tribal leader Birsa Munda who became a part of the tribal movement against the British which began in the 1870s in the Chota Nagpur plateau.’

Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award 2022

Table Tennis player Sharath Kamal Achanta chosen for Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. On November 30th, President Droupadi Murmu will present the National Sports Awards. Sharath Kamal Achanta will receive the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. 25 athletes will receive Arjuna Awards for outstanding athletic performance: Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. 

Spanish Film Director and writer Carlos Saura to be given Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award

Carlos Saura, the Spanish filmmaker who won the Golden Bear for Best Director at the Berlin International Film Festival for Deprisa Deprisa, as well as two Silver Bears for La caza and Peppermint Frappe, a BAFTA for Carmen, and three Cannes awards, will be honoured with the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award and an eight-film retrospective at IFFI.
