Marie Tharp Created First Scientific Map of the Atlantic Ocean Floor

Google is paying tribute to Marie Tharp, an American geologist and oceanographic cartographer who helped prove continental drift theories. She was a co-author of the first global map of ocean floors. Ms. Tharp was named one of the greatest cartographers of the twentieth century by the Library of Congress on November 21, 1998. Ms. Tharp's interactive biography is featured in the Google Doodle. 

Chiranjeevi named the India Film Personality of the Year 2022 at IFFI

Chiranjeevi Konidela, an Indian actor, film producer, and former politician who primarily works in the Telegu film industry, was named India Film Personality of the Year 2022 on Sunday at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. Chiranjeevi has appeared in over 150 films during his career. He has appeared in films in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. Chiranjeevi has won the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award, the highest film award in Andhra Pradesh, three Nandi Awards, and nine Filmfare Awards in Telugu during his four-decade film career. 

Dalai Lama receives Gandhi Mandela Award

Himachal Pradesh governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar presented the Gandhi Mandela Award 2022 to the 14th Dalai Lama on Saturday at Thekchen Choeling in Dharamshala's McleodGanj. The Tibetan spiritual leader said that nonviolence and compassion had been ingrained in Indian culture for thousands of years as he accepted the Gandhi Mandela Peace Prize from the Gandhi Mandela Foundation in New Delhi.
