National Engineer’s Day 2022

NDIA is celebrating Engineer's Day on September 15, 2022, to mark the birth anniversary of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya made for our country, who was one of the greatest engineers of India. He was the first civil engineer, statesman and the 19th Diwan of Mysore, serving from 1912 to 1918.
 

International Day of Democracy 2022

International Day of Democracy is observed on September 15 every year. The day is celebrated to uphold and honour the values of democracy in the world. This year the theme is "Protecting Press Freedom for Democracy".
 

Vinesh Phogat becomes first Indian woman to win two World Championship medals

At the 2022 World Wrestling Championship, Vinesh Phogat took home bronze in the women's 53kg category. The first Indian woman wrestler to take home two medals from the World Championship is Vinesh Phogat. She also made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a gold medal at the Asian and Commonwealth Games. She won the gold medal in women's 53 kg freestyle wrestling at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
 

Kibithu camp renamed after General Rawat

In honour of the nation's first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Bipin Rawat, who died in a helicopter crash last December, the military camp at Kibithu, which is located in Arunachal Pradesh and is very close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC), has been renamed "Gen. Bipin Rawat military garrison."
