Cyclone Asani Update: As per the latest updates given by the Indian Meteorological Department, cyclone Asani is weakening into a 'well-marked low-pressure area' during the next 12 hours. It has weakened into a depression between Machilipatnam and Narasapur in Andhra Pradesh late on Wednesday night.
According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rain at many places. IMD also said that the Deep Pressure Area over Coastal Andhra Pradesh remained practically stable during the last 6 hours and weakened over the same area. It is very likely to remain isolated and very weak over Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 12 hours.
Many parts of Odisha and West Bengal have been receiving heavy rains on Thursday morning.

As Cyclone Asani moved towards Andhra Pradesh, its impact is gradually lessening in Odisha. Due to the effect of cyclone, it is heavily raining in the coastal districts of the state. the Meteorological Department has issued an alert in the next 24 hours, anticipating heavy rain at some places in 10 districts of the state. These 10 districts include Mayurbhanj, Baleshwar, Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Navrangpur, and Malkangiri districts. IMD forecast says that from May 13, there will be a change in the weather in these areas. At the same time, due to the effect of cyclone, the rains are continuing in Puri, Gajapati, Khurda etc. districts since Wednesday morning.

According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will be clear today with shining sun. The maximum temperature can be 43 and the minimum temperature can remain up to 29 degrees. The heatwave will begin from May 13 to 15. On the beginning of the heatwave, the temperature can remain around 44 degrees. From May 16, the effect of the western disturbance will be evident in the national capital and the weather will become cloudy. Temperatures can drop by around 1 to 2 degrees. By May 17, the temperature is likely to reach 41 degrees.
