A court in Begusarai, Bihar has issued an arrest warrant against filmmaker and director Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor. Ekta is accused of insulting soldiers and hurting the sentiments of their family members in her web series 'XXX' (Season-2).

The court of Justice Vikas Kumar has issued the warrant on the basis of the complaint of a former soldier and Begusarai resident Shambhu Kumar. Kumar, in his complaint in 2020, had alleged that the series 'XXX' (Season-2) featured several objectionable scenes related to the wife of a soldier.

Ekta Kapoor Didn't Reach the Court for the Hearing

The court issued a warrant after Ekta and Shobha Kapoor did not attend the court summons. Advocate Hrishikesh Pathak said, "The court had issued summons to her and asked her to appear before it on the basis of a complaint lodged by Shambhu Kumar, an ex-serviceman and resident of Begusarai. But she did not appear before the court." After which a warrant was issued against her."

Let us tell you that even before this, cases have been registered against Ekta Kapoor in many other places regarding her web series. An FIR was registered in Indore against producer Ekta Kapoor and others for allegedly hurting religious sentiments, insulting army personnel and misusing the national emblem in the web series 'XXX Season 2'.

What is the matter?

According to the police, an FIR was registered at Annapurna Police Station in 2020 under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the IT Act. Complainant Neeraj Yagnik said that he has filed a complaint in the matter after seeing the objectionable use of national emblem and army uniform in the web series. A similar complaint was filed against producers Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor in a Muzaffarpur court in Bihar for allegedly insulting Army personnel and their family members in Alt Balaji's XXX web series.
