Indians can pay UAE through BHIM UPI, Know how it will work | How will BHIM UPI Work in UAE

NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), the international arm of the National Payment Corporation of India, informed that BHIM UPI is now available at NEOPAY terminals across the UAE. This initiative will enable millions of Indians travelling to UAE to make secure and easy payments with BHIM UPI at NEOPAY-using shops and merchant stores. NIPL and Mashreq Bank's payments subsidiary NEOPAY had partnered last year to build acceptance infrastructure in UAE. 

Ritesh Shukla, CEO, NIPL said, “We are delighted to see BHIM UPI going live in the UAE through our partnership with NEOPAY. This initiative will enable Indian tourists to make payments using BHIM UPI, which is the same as for Indian citizens. has emerged as the preferred mode of payment. “NIPL with our state-of-the-art solutions continues to work towards simplifying digital payments and enhancing digital public goods across the globe,” he added.

How will BHIM UPI Work in UAE?

For making transactions using the UAE using UPI, users need to have a bank account in India with UPI activated on it. Also, people need to have a mobile app like BHIM that supports UPI payments. 

Will UPI be accepted everywhere in UAE?

No, UPI won't be available in the whole UAE. Only at the NEOPAY terminals, the UPI payments will be accepted.
