8 people lost their lives in a road accident which took place at Jammu and Kashmir as a minibus filled with passengers fell into a gorge on Thursday. The bus was travelling from Thatri to Doda on wrong side when it fell down in gorge causing 8 dead and several others injured.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the accident and said, “Saddened by the road accident near Thatri, Doda in Jammu and Kashmir. In this hour of grief, I convey my condolences to the bereaved families. I pray that the people who have been injured recover at the earliest," a tweet from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said.

Prime Minister also announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to be given from PM National Relief Fund(PMNRF) to the families of those who lost their lives and Rs. 50,000 to be given to those who are injured.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh also assured every kind of assistance to be provided to local authorities and tweeted “Just now spoke to D.C.Doda Vikas Sharma, the injured being shifted to GMC Doda. Whatever further assistance required will be provided.”
As soon as the news of accident came in, the team of SDRF reached the spot and deported all the injured to hospital. There was also some news of missing people who were then founded by the SDRF team.
