The rescue effort would continue over the night as well. Union Home Minister Amit Shah called with the state's Chief Minister Biren Singh and the railway minister Ashwani Vaishnav to assess the incident. Rapid relief and rescue efforts are being made to deal with this terrible event.


On Friday, the Chief Minister Biren Singh made a major announcement. He announced an ex-gratia of five lakh each to the families of the deceased and ₹ 50,000 to the injured.

In addition to assuring the CM that the centre will provide all assistance feasible, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also sent his condolences to the relatives of the deceased and wished those who had been hurt a speedy recovery.
