NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede is on the target of Maharashtra government due to Mumbai Drug Bust case, but the officer is receiving constant support of his family. His wife, Kranti Redkar wrote a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey. She said that under the rule of Shivsena, a woman’s dignity is on stake. If Bal Thackrey would have been alive, he would not have accepted this.
She wrote that she, a Marathi girl, grew up watching Shivsena standing up for women rights and dignity and learnt from Chhatrapati Shivaji and Bala Saheb Thackrey that one should neither do injustice to anyone nor should he tolerate injustice. And hence, she is standing strongly in front of those raising questions on her and her family. She also said that people on Social media are only making fun.
She said that she is an artist and not a politician nor she wants to get into politics but once the day starts, she and her family is insulted.
Sameer Wannkhede is the investigating officer of Mumbai Drug Bust Case and he was the one who arrested Aryan Khan in the same case. But ever since the raid, NCP minister Nawab Malik has been raising allegations against the NCB Zonal Director. He shared a picture of birth certificate, which he claimed was of Sameer Wankhede. The certificate showed officer’s father’s name written as Dawood K Wankhede, while it is Dnyandev Wankhede as per the NCB website. He claimed that Sameer Wankhede was Muslim when he applied for the government job and hence used fraudulent ways to get forged caste certificate which he used to get job in indian Revenue Services (IRS) under the Scheduled Caste Category.
Prabhakar Sail and three other complainants also filed complaint against Sameer Wankhede and extortion charges were levelled up against him.
