Petrol and Diesel prices were once again increased by 35 paise for the sixth consecutive day on Monday, as per the notification by the three oil marketing companies- Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum. With this hike, the prices once again reached record high. The hike was implemented at 6am in morning.

Here are the prices of Petrol and Diesel in Metropolitan Cities:

Petrol- Rs. 109.69

Diesel- Rs. 98.42

Petrol- Rs. 115.50

Diesel- Rs. 106.62

Petrol- Rs. 110.15

Diesel- Rs. 101.56

Petrol- Rs. 106.35

Diesel- Rs. 102.59

The prices have been increasing because of the unrelenting hike in the prices of global crude oil. While petrol has already reached the 100 mark in most of the states of India, Diesel too has crossed it in dozen of the cities of India. The difference in prices of fuel across states is because of the different amount of local taxes implemented on them.

Hike in commerical LPG Cylinders

Prices of LPG Cylinders were also increased by about 265 Rupees. However, to make things bit better, the hike has only been done in commercial cylinders and not domestic ones. Now the commercial cylinders will cost more than Rs. 2000 in the capital City. In Mumbai the 19 kg cylinder will now cost Rs. 1950 while in Kolkata, it will be priced at Rs. 2073.50. In Chennai, Rs. 2,133 will have to be spent to buy 19kg commercial LPG Cylinder.
