PM Modi UAE Visit: Why PM Modi's UAE visit is important, first visit after Prophet Mohammad controversy

28 Jun, 2022

After participating in the G7 Summit, Prime Minister Modi is now on a tour of the UAE. This visit of the Prime Minister is happening after the Prophet Mohammad Row by BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal. After this dispute, Prime Minister Modi went to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the first time.

UAE was also one of those Muslim countries which had strongly objected to the remarks made by BJP spokespersons on Prophet Mohammad. It is being speculated that after this visit of the PM, the relationship between the two countries will strengthen further.

Smart City discussions

Many experts are linking Modi's visit to Masdar with the Smart City project itself. Before meeting 50,000 members of the Indian community at the Dubai Cricket Ground, PM Modi arrived in Masdar city of Abu Dhabi, which is a zero carbon smart city. Spread over an area of six square kilometres, Masdar is a different type of city, which runs on solar energy as well as many other types of renewable energy.

There is a discussion that the PM visited the city for the purpose of preparing the blueprint of the smart city project. Here PM Modi rides a driverless car which is part of Masdar City's Private Rapid Transit (PRT). These cars are fully automatic. The car runs on a lithium battery which is powered by solar energy. Along with this, this car knows through a software where and how it has to go.
