President Election 2022: NDA's strength will increase, JDS hints at supporting Draupadi Murmu

Presidential election is going to be held in the country on 18th July. About which the enthusiasm is fast. Political parties are brainstorming on supporting presidential candidates. On the other hand, NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu seems to be gaining ground, because now Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy also indicated that his party may support ND candidate Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election.

Will assess political background

Former Karnataka Chief Minister and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy has indicated that his party may support BJP-led NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election. He said a final decision would be taken soon after looking at the background of both the contesting candidates (Draupadi Murmu and Yashwant Sinha). The former Karnataka Chief Minister said that Draupadi Murmu has sought support from JDS mentor and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and also sought time to meet him personally.

Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy said that Draupadi Murmu has already discussed with our national president (Deve Gowda) twice over phone and requested support. Also, he had sought time to meet. I requested my National President that in the present situation there is no need for him to come personally. He said that Draupadi Murmu already had a majority and expressed her desire to seek Deve Gowda's support in good faith and generously.

HD Kumaraswamy said that she has already won. They don't need to come that far. We will decide on the party. You (the media) must have understood by now what our decision can be. Before taking a final decision, we will look at the background of both the candidates. There is no question of Congress, BJP or any B-team here. He said that he has seen Murmu's background and his struggle.
