Government issued statewise guidelines for the third wave of Omicron

The Prime Minister of India today had a virtual meeting with the chief ministers of all states to review and assess the COVID-19 situation in the country, PM Modi stated that the doubts and uncertainty about the Omicron variant has been cleared as it has shown to have infected the general population several times faster than the previous ones. In order to protect the economy from collapsing and saving the livelihood of common people the Prime Minister has asked to frame Covid strategies and focus on local containment.

PM Modi told the chief ministers at the virtual conference."The sooner the precautionary dose is applied to the frontline workers and senior citizens, the more the capacity of our healthcare system will increase. We have to intensify the Har Ghar Dastak campaign for 100% vaccination". He also said that the way the central and state governments chose the pre-emptive, proactive, and collective approach, this time too we will use the same approach for victory. The more we can limit the coronavirus infection, the less the problem will be. He has asked the citizens not to panic or stress and with collective help and support we can surely win the battle with COVID-19.

Guidelines issued for the third wave

Inclusive of that night curfew has been issued for every state according to the situation. Many states have been ordered to limit gatherings at work, restaurants and other places to 50%, whereas, in the states where the scale is higher than others weekend curfew has been ordered along with night curfews. Markets are closed after 8pm and almost every state has been asked to shut down schools and colleges till further notice.
