Born on this day in1918,  T. Balasaraswati, one of the most famous ‘Bharatanatyam’dancers of India. She was awarded the Padma Bhushan and the Padma Vibhushan, the third and the second-highest civilian honours given by the Government of India.

Born on this day in 1905, from 1974 to 1977, Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed was the fifth President of India.

On this day in 1967, Dr Zakir Husain becomes the third President of India. He is the first Muslim President of the Indian Union who maintained this position until August 24, 1969.


  1. U.S. declaration of war on Mexico approved
