He has also been the best swimmer in three consecutive Open National Championships from 2004–2006 and held all three (50, 100, 200 m) butterfly National titles for four years from 2004-2007 as well as all three (50, 100, 200 m) backstroke National titles in 2006.

Born on this day in 1657, Sambhaji Bhosale was the second ruler of the Maratha kingdom.  He was the eldest son of Shivaji who is the founder of the Maratha Empire.

Born on this day in 1997, Manushi Chhillar is an Indian actress, model and the winner of Miss World 2017.

On this day in 1796,  Edward Jenner administered the first vaccination for the treatment of  smallpox. The British physician, Edward Jenner, successfully inoculated an 8-year-old smallpox patient using material from a cowpox lesion.

 

  1. Poland Warsaw Pact Signed

On this day in 1955, The Soviet Union and its Eastern Bloc allies including USSR, Poland, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Albania signed a security pact in Warsaw. It provided close integration of military, economic and cultural policy between the eight Communist nations.

 

  1. Louis XIV becomes King of France 

On this day in 1643 Louis XIV becomes King of France at the age of 4.
