In the last season of the Olympics Games, the Rio Olympics 2016, India sent its strong contingent of 117 athletes to compete across 15 sports. After its commendable performance at the London Olympics 2012, India was expecting a good number of medals at the Rio Olympics 2016, as the contingent went with some popular names such as Gagan Narang, Deepika Kumari, Abhinav Bindra, Saina Nehwal, but failed at that.
