Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022: Challenge to win Lakhimpur Sadar Garh

26 Jan, 2022

After the Kheri violence, the election results of Kheer, which became a topic of discussion in the whole country, will be very important. The reason is clear that the sitting BJP MLA Yogesh Verma is a close relative of the likely SP candidate Utkarsh Verma. Once upon a time, this seat was in the possession of SP for a long time. In this seat dominated by Kurmi, from the year 1996 to 2017, the SP candidate was occupied in this seat, but in the last election 2017 BJP candidate Yogesh Verma won the election from here, the specialty is that no issue has ever dominated this seat.

The Lakhimpur constituency will contest elections on 23rd February 2022 in the fourth round for all the 8 seats. Lakhimpur Kheri, the largest district in terms of area, has a total of eight assembly seats, but the picture of interesting contests is the most interesting in the Sadar seat. The seat was held by SP for over a period of 21 years before 2017.

The 1/3rd part of the constituency is covered by rural areas. The number of voters here are 4,10,473 among which 2,18,038 are male voters whereas the female voters are 1,92,426. The young voters are 14,048.
