On Sunday, September 25, severe weather affected a number of states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram. There could be thunderstorms and light to moderate rain across Tripura, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. There is a warning for significant rainfall in several regions.

Why it’s pouring in September

The emergence of numerous climate conditions at once, according to the Meteorological Department, is the primary cause of the severe rainfall at the end of September. While the axis of the monsoon trough is heading towards Punjab via Delhi-Haryana, a cyclonic circulation is still visible over West UP. In addition to this, a powerful Western Disturbance is also present over North India.
