Weather Update Today: Winter is increasing in the states of North India. So right there, the rainy season continues in South India. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding the cyclonic storm. According to IMD, there is a possibility of a cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal. IMD says that due to this storm, there may be heavy rains in many states of South India including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh by 8 December.
In fact, the IMD has expressed apprehension that the low pressure area over the South Andaman Sea may soon turn into a cyclonic storm. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding rain in many states of South India. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has advised fishermen not to venture into the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea for the next few days. Along with this, there is a possibility of strong wind blowing in many areas of South India.
In view of IMD alert regarding low pressure over South Andaman Sea, 6 teams of NDRF Arakkonam have been deployed. They have been deployed at Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai and Chennai. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a depression over southeast Bay of Bengal.
