Weather Updates: IMD issues Cold Wave Warning, know all states and UT’s affected

Weather Updates India: On Thursday, the Indian Meteorological Department issued a warning over the cold wave that will be persistent for the coming next 3-4 days. Cold wave and severe cold wave warnings were issued for 7 states and Union Territories in total. Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Rajasthan will be under the grip of the cold wave from 31 December to 3 January, the temperature will also dip. 

IMD also warned Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh to brace themselves over cold wave conditions. All these states will see chilly New Year 2022. The minimum temperature in Delhi will drop to 3.4 degrees celsius Delhi, which is 4 notches below normal. The maximum temperature will be 19.5 degrees celsius.  

Back to back western disturbances are the reason of the occurrence of this severe cold wave. Snowfall in Himachal Pradesh is predicted by IMD between 4 January to 6 January.
