Wrestling Championships: Bajrang Punia Creates History By Winning 4 Medals

Bajrang Punia India's star wrestler has created history in the World Wrestling Championship 2022. Bajrang Punia has made a unique record after winning the bronze medal. Along with this medal, Bajrang has won 4 medals in this championship. With this, Bajrang has become the first Indian to win four medals in this championship. Recently, he won the gold medal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

Bajrang Punia consistently winning

Bajrang Punia has been consistently performing well in the last few years. After the Tokyo Olympics and the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Bajrang Punia also won the medal in the World Wrestling Championship. He won the bronze medal by defeating Puerto Rico's Sebastian Rivera 11-9 in the 65 kg weight category. Bajrang Punia was trailing 6-0 in the bronze medal match, but he won the match by making a spectacular comeback. 

This is Bajrang Punia's fourth medal in the World Wrestling Championship. Earlier, Bajrang Punia had won bronze in the year 2013, silver in 2018 and bronze again in 2019. He is also the only Indian wrestler to have won four medals at the World Wrestling Championships.

Total medals won

Bajrang Punia won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022. Bajrang Punia won the gold by defeating Lachlan McNeil of Canada 9-2 in the final. Earlier, Bajrang Punia won silver medal in 2014 and gold medal in 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. Bajrang Punia has won the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics.
