Chaitra Navratri 2021:

Since the 9-days long festival of Chaitra Navratri 2021 is going on, each day has its own spiritual significance as on each day of the 9 days festival, each of the nine incarnations of Goddess Durga is worshipped. 


The Day 5 of Chaitra Navratri 2021, i.e., on 17th April 2021, Maa Skandamata form of Goddess Durga is worshipped and people wear the colour grey. The virtuous grey is a timeless colour that depicts the quality of destruction of the evil of maa Durga. 


Chaitra Navratri Day 5: MaaSkandamata Puja Mantra:

या देवी सर्वभू‍तेषु स्कंदमाता रूपेण संस्थिता. 

नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नम: ।।,


या देवी सर्वभू‍तेषु माँ स्कन्दमाता रूपेण संस्थिता। नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥


Chaitra Navratri Day 5: MaaSkandamata Puja Aarti:

जय तेरी हो स्कंद माता

पांचवा नाम तुम्हारा आता

सब के मन की जानन हारी

जग जननी सब की महतारी

तेरी ज्योत जलाता रहू मै

हरदम तुम्हे ध्याता रहू मै

कई नामो से तुझे पुकारा

मुझे एक है तेरा सहारा

कही पहाड़ो पर है डेरा

कई शेहरो मै तेरा बसेरा

हर मंदिर मै तेरे नजारे

गुण गाये तेरे भगत प्यारे

भगति अपनी मुझे दिला दो

शक्ति मेरी बिगड़ी बना दो

इन्दर आदी देवता मिल सारे

करे पुकार तुम्हारे द्वारे

दुष्ट दत्य जब चढ़ कर आये

तुम ही खंडा हाथ उठाये

दासो को सदा बचाने आई

'चमन' की आस पुजाने आई ॥

Chaitra Navratri Day 5: MaaSkandamata Puja Vidhi:

Getting up early in the morning and taking a bath is advised before commencing with the prayer. Establish the idol or photo of Maa Skandamata where the Kalash has been kept. After this, dedicate the fruits, flowers and light a dhoop at the worship place.  It is believed that worshipping goddess Skandamata through the Panchopchar vidhi is very auspicious.


Now, the devotees are required to use the three layers of mud and grain seeds and should put them inside the pan, and then, water should be sprinkled on that. Following this, a pot is filled with Ganga Jal and five leaves of the mango tree are put inside the pot and then, covering it with coconut.
