Since the Covid-19 vaccination process in the country is in full swing, people are getting into various creative ways to assist the people of the country to the fullest. And hence, Mumbai is about to get its first drive-in vaccination center in Dadar West at the Kohinoor Public Parking center. The services will be inaugurated on Tuesday at 9:30 AM by the Shiv Sena MP Rahul Shewale and will be only available to the physically challenged and senior citizens.
It must be noted that Kohinoor has the facility to vaccinate 5,000 people on a daily basis, and out of those, 200 can be in the form of drive-ins to get vaccinated. Moreover, the same establishment was used for drive-in testing by the BMC last year.
Quoting on the news, the additional municipal commissioner, Kiran Dighavkar stated that, “It is a large parking lot. There was a demand for home vaccination since many people are not able to stand in a queue. They will not get jabbed in their own vehicles. They can also spend 30 minutes mandatory waiting period in their cars. Those who use the facility will only have to pay the relevant parking charges.”
Tweeting on the news, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi stated, “This will offer much relief to senior citizens as well as those who are above 45 and are specially abled. Kudos @DighavkarKiran Ji!”
